About the KOOS

Who it is for

Patients with knee injuries (ACL, meniscus, cartilage) and those with early to moderate OA. Ideal for younger, active patients where sports function matters.

What it measures

Five separately scored subscales: Pain, other Symptoms, Function in daily living (ADL), Function in sport/recreation (Sport/Rec), and knee-related Quality of life (QOL). Provides multidimensional assessment.

Sections

  • Pain (9 items)
  • Symptoms (7 items)
  • ADL (17 items)
  • Sport/Rec (5 items)
  • QOL (4 items)

Reading your score

Each subscale scored 0-100, where 0 = extreme problems, 100 = no problems. Subscales reported separately, not summed.

Important. These questionnaires are provided for education and self-tracking. A score is not a diagnosis and does not replace advice from a doctor or physiotherapist. Seek urgent care for a knee that is hot, red and swollen, follows a significant injury, or will not bear weight.
